Floor Plan Trends

I personally love the new floor plan trends that are being promoted for the upcoming year. It is particularly satisfying when those trends line up with home designs and house plans that are currently available. Staying ahead of the trends, while still maintaining an appreciation for the traditional, is what makes the Sater Design Collection so special.

Proving it . . .

One home design trend that is popular for 2016 is contemporary style. So let’s take a look at Sater Design’s collection of modern home plans. Our modern-style house plans feature contemporary detailing such as floor-to-ceiling window walls, clean and simple lines, maintenance-free finishes and more. The popularity of natural elements combined with contemporary style continues to be on the rise, not to mention “green” living. All of our modern floor plans incorporate sustainable design features to ensure maintenance free living, energy efficiency, and lasting value.

One of our most popular contemporary home designs is the appropriately named “Moderno”, with 3507 square feet of open flowing space for you and your family.

Relaxing within Modern Floor Plan Trends

Another popular floor plan trend is creating spaces to encourage relaxation. Many of the Sater Design Collection house designs incorporate this idea with Florida rooms, verandas, and solanas. One such home plan is our “Jasper Park”, a charming villa with a private garden off the master bath, as well a vaulted fire pit area off the expansive veranda.

Large kitchen and dining areas that are open to main living spaces is another design trend that enhances a casually elegant lifestyle. Expansive islands with smart functional designs provide usable space for preparing and cooking food, as well as additional seating for family and friends. Sater Design Collection’s “Portofino” home plan melds the best of the old and the new in this spectacularly timeless Mediterranean home design.

A designated dining room can still exist, but it is more open and can be used in multiple ways, such as a music room. This is shown here in our “Prairie Pine Court”, a modern prairie-style farmhouse home plan.
