Today’s master suites are more than just a bedroom. Often they include things like fireplaces, morning kitchens, and sitting areas. Not to mention large private baths. This makes the master suite a place to relax far from the rest of the people in the home. A second story master suite offers some very specific advantages.
A second floor master allows you to dedicate the whole first floor to common living areas. The Carrington house plan, designed specifically for narrow lots, is a great example of that. The first floor has an open floor plan that encompasses the kitchen, dining area, great room, and even the breakfast area. There is also an office and a wrap-around verandah.
Another home designed for narrow lots is the Shadow Lane house plan. This smaller home also has an open floor plan. There is a bedroom on the first floor, making it a great choice for a multi-generational household. The second floor has the master suite along with a third bedroom and its own bathroom.
This collection has been created by Dan Sater to include his best house plans with master suites on the second floor. You should be able to find you dream home here. If not, we can modify most of our house plans. Let us know if we can help you find your forever home.
