Small kitchens or large kitchens, it doesn’t matter. They all can benefit from one thing - a walk-in pantry. I know some people would rather just add a bunch of cabinets in the kitchen and be done with it. But here his why your kitchen needs a walk-in pantry.
The most obvious reason is extra storage. Even a small walk-in pantry can be fitted with shelves from the floor to the ceiling. And with more storage space you can take advantage of shopping at places like Costco and BJ’s Wholesale. Everyone knows you can save a lot when buying in bulk, but where do you put it all?
How many times have you been on your hands and knees digging through the lower cabinets of the kitchen searching for that one Tupperware bowl? Under counter cabinets are fine but they do tend to have spaces that are very hard to reach. The walk-in pantry allows you to organize your things so they are much quicker and easier to find.
Kitchens are not just the three main appliances - fridge, stove, and microwave. Today we have toaster ovens, rice cookers, fish poachers, popcorn makers, coffee grinders, the list is endless. Finding the space for them in any kitchen is always a chore. Even something as simple as large mixing bowls can be a real headache. But a walk-in pantry gives you a place to park those invaluable marvelous machines when they are not needed.
When it comes time to sell, a home with a walk-in pantry is going to have a leg up on one without. People like to see that a home has unique features that make it stand out. And no one has ever said, "I don’t like that house, there is too much storage space.”
All of these reasons end up giving your kitchen a very clean, organized, and welcoming look. We all spend more time in our kitchens than any other room in the house, except for the bedroom. Having a walk-in pantry will help keep that most important room clutter free. It also helps make it more useful and adaptable. A walk-in pantry is a feature I personally like and have in my own home.
