Spanish Style Home Plans

Spanish style home plans are a reflection of the architectural traditions of the early Spanish colonies. These designs are influenced by a combination of elements from across Europe, including the decorative Moorish and Mediterranean motifs used in the old country.

Sometimes called Spanish Revival or Spanish Eclectic, the exterior characteristics will include one or more of the following:

• A low-pitched tile roof
• Thick masonry walls covered in stucco
• An asymmetrical façade
• Decorative elements such as arches, ironwork, and wood carvings

The functional design of Spanish Colonial home plans sometimes includes a casita, which can be used for guests or even as a private office space, such as in our spacious “La Reina” house plan.
